University Routes To Success For Carnegie College Students

Carnegie College students have yet again shown they can compete with the best, with a record number fighting off fierce competition to gain places at university for next year. Following a hugely successful year, over 120 Carnegie students have received and accepted offers to continue their studies at degree level, with a further 35 still considering their offers. Work Placements Lead To Employment For Carnegie Students

Carnegie students have benefited from the working relationship the college has established with over 80 residential and nursing care establishments in the area. Twelve students have received offers of employment as a result of a new Care course designed by college staff.  Staff recognized that many employers nowadays are looking for both the appropriate qualifications and work experience when they are appointing new staff and that the Care Sector was no exception. Carnegie Lecturer Takes Up Gluten Free Diet To Raise Awareness

In March of this year, Hospitality Lecturer, Ciaran Faherty addressed a Scottish Parliamentary Cross Party Group on Coeliac Disease. His presentation emphasized the work carried out at Carnegie in raising awareness of coeliac disease among the College’s Hospitality students. In the run up to Coeliac Awareness Week (16-22 May) Ciaran undertook the Gluten-Free Challenge. For one week he experienced first-hand what it is like to be careful about the food eaten ensuring that he stayed gluten-free. Read more »

Carnegie’s Latest Training Facilities Formally Opened

On Tuesday 19th April, Carnegie College’s new premises, in Wood Road, Rosyth, were formally opened by Councillor Douglas Chapman. Councillor Chapman The Punler Centre is the latest addition to Carnegie’s Rosyth Campus and is named in honour of the generosity and support given to the College by local entrepreneur and businessman Keith Punler.

The Punler Centre enables the College to continue its commitment to provide sector-leading learning, training and skills development for the people of Fife, and support the provision of a skilled workforce for the future needs of Scotland’ Read more »
