iDEAS COMPETITION

REMEMBER: The closing date for receipt of entries for the 1st round is 30th Jan 2010

The 1st Carnegie Internet Futures Competition is now open for entries. We’re looking for the best new ideas for internet based businesses. The competition is open to anyone aged 16 years or over and any business area is acceptable. So if you:

  • have an original idea for an internet business?
  • think you could create the next Ebay, Google or Spotify?
  • always thought that you had the potential to start your own business?
  • have a strong belief in your own ideas?

HOW THE COMPETITION WILL WORK

ROUND 1 We would like you to make a simple pitch telling us about your idea, the 'iPitch'.

See the competition guidelines for ways to submit your entry. When complete it should be emailed to iteam@carnegieifutures.com

DEADLINE FOR  iPITCH SUBMISSION IS 30TH JANUARY 2010

ROUND 2 If your iPitch is successful, we will ask you to prepare a video business plan through the iGenerator for review by our judging panel.

WHAT COULD I WIN?

5 lucky winners will receive...

  • Investment support in your idea up to the value of £2000. The type of support will depend on the needs of your business and may not necessarily be a cash reward.
  • The support of a business mentor to help you take your idea to the next stage.
  • The opportunity to seek further funding from our network of investors.
  • A trip to visit the ‘research’ teams at one of our technology partners.
  • An opportunity to participate in the first Carnegie iFutures internet entrepreneurship programme.

ALL applicants will receive

  • Feedback on your idea.
  • A chance to resubmit to the next round.
  • Guidance to other sources of support.
  • The opportunity to place your idea in our investors’ market place.

ENTRY CHECKLIST

  • You are aged 16 years or over
  • Entry is based on your idea for an internet based business
  • You are submitting one entry (only one entry allowed)
  • Your entry fits our technical specifications for file type/size
  • You have completed a covering email with: name, your e-mail address, the name of your internet business idea.
